Are you looking for the opportunity to perform in front of thousands at Australia’s biggest music event; to be exposed to some of the leaders in the country music industry and to follow in the footsteps of legends like Keith Urban, Kasey Chambers and Beccy Cole?

The opportunity is yours to take as registrations for the highly anticipated Toyota Country Music Busking Championships are now officially open.

Each January, Tamworth’s Peel Street welcomes up to 400 buskers, transforming it into country music’s “Boulevard of Dreams”. Many artists take to the pavement to join in the energetic atmosphere of the festival while others line up in the hope that they will be discovered for their talent.

“My first festival was back in 2014. I came and I busked on the street, and I think that’s such an important part about establishing yourself in the country music industry,” said TCMF busking alumni, Missy Lancaster.

Busking is a great way for artists to develop the skills and the confidence of performing and Toyota Australia's Chief Marketing Officer, Wayne Gabriel said Toyota was proud to continue their support.

“The Toyota Busking Championships is a real fan favourite and we are continuously blown away by the quality of buskers and street performers that come to Tamworth.

“Our goal is to inspire up and coming artists with the opportunity to follow their passions and help them to develop some of the performing skills they may need for a career in the industry. We encourage anyone and everyone who is a keen performer to register for busking and begin their journey at the Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth,” added Mr. Gabriel.

The championships offer 10 finalists the opportunity to perform at the Toyota Best of the Buskers concert on the final Sunday of the Festival and there is also the chance to win a share in over $5,000 worth of prizes.

Up and coming artists looking for their next big break are strongly encouraged to register for Busking online at www.tcmf.com.au/Busking.

Registrations are open from Monday 9 September and performers can apply for a busking permit until the close of TCMF2020.
