Nominations for the 2020 Queen of Country Music Quest are now open and organisers are encouraging local businesses and community groups to get involved. 

The ‘Queen Quest’ as it is commonly known, is coordinated by the Zonta Club of Tamworth and has played a key role in the development of young Tamworth women since 1984.

Entrants are afforded a range of personal and professional development opportunities in preparation for the judging process including public speaking, etiquette training; confidence coaching; styling, image and grooming tips, and media training.

As Zonta Quest Coordinator Stephanie Cameron explains, “the Queen of Country Music Quest is not just a one-week event.  The personal and professional development opportunities afforded each of the entrants ensures every girl comes out a winner.

“Participating in the Queen Quest is also a great way to meet other like-minded women and rub shoulders with the stars of country music. You’ll also enjoy behind-the-scenes Festival experiences including the prestigious Golden Guitar Awards”.

Nominations are open now until 6 October 2019 for women aged 18 – 35 years. 

Applicants must be nominated and sponsored by their employer, a local business or community organisation to sure their involvement.  Applications will be assessed, with 15 successful applicants invited to an official welcome and induction evening.  These 15 finalists will then go on to complete the personal and professional development courses, and act as advocates for the Toyota Country Music Festival and Tamworth as a destination of choice in NSW.

The major honours -- Queen and Princess of Country Music -- will be announced at a gala dinner in January 2020. The winner will be awarded the major prize, which includes a trip to Tamworth’s sister city, Gore in New Zealand where she will represent Tamworth at the 2020 Gore Country Music Festival.

Both the Queen and Princess will act as ambassadors for Tamworth and the Region throughout 2020, spending the next 12 months involved in a range of high-profile civic and community events, guest speaking engagements and corporate and festival functions.
