Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth wins gold!

The nation’s largest and longest live country music event has claimed gold overnight, with the Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth winning the Major Festivals and Events category at the NSW Tourism Awards.

The NSW Tourism Awards celebrate business excellence, with the Major Festival and Events category recognising tourism leisure festivals and events that have positive social and economic impacts on the local community.

The Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth went up against some impressive competition in the Major Festival and Events category, with Bluesfest Byron Bay awarded silver.

Toyota Country Music Festival Manager, Barry Harley says it is a great win for Australia’s country music capital.

“This accolade is testament to the profound impact the Tamworth County Music Festival has on the industry and the local region,” he said.

“For more than five decades this event has been an annual celebration of Australia’s country music industry, welcoming hundreds of thousands of people to the city of Tamworth, and providing them with an immersive and unique live music experience.”

Last night’s gold win will now see the Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth automatically qualify as a finalist for the Australian Tourism Awards, where they will go up against the other state gold winners in the Major Festival and Events category.

The Australian Tourism Awards will be held in the Northern Territory on 15 March, 2024.

“I congratulate the fantastic, hardworking team behind the Toyota Country Music Festival, who continue to make it a successful event, year in, year out,” said Mr Harley.
