The 51st Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth will be the place to be in January 2023, with the biggest names of Australian country, and up and coming stars headlining 10-days of FREE entertainment across multiple venues and locations during the nation’s largest country music event.
More than 100 artists will take to the stage in Toyota Park – the Festival’s largest and loudest venue across the 10-days with the 51st Festival celebrations kicking off with the Opening Concert on Friday, 13 January. Artists amongst the Opening Concert line up include top 2022 Golden Guitar winner, Shane Nicholson, 2022 Female Artist of the Year Ashleigh Dallas, 2022 Toyota Star Maker Max Jackson, 2022 Golden Guitar winner Angus Gill, 2023 Toyota Star Maker finalist Jacob Vincent, 2022 Golden Gig, Sponsored by Macca’s winner Mackenzie Lee, plus 2022 The Voice contestant and Golden Gig finalist, Lane Pittman, as well as students from the CMAA Academy of Country Music.
Toyota Country Music Festival Manager, Barry Harley says the Festival is truly a unique live music experience.
“The Toyota Country Music Festival is one of the only non-gated Festivals where people can experience many elements and artist performances for free,” he said.
“We have a fantastic line up of artists across Toyota Park and FanZone in 2023, with some of the biggest names ready to take to the stage.”
Toyota Australia Chief Marketing Officer Vin Naidoo said the free Toyota Park concerts were always a highlight of the Tamworth Country Music Festival that truly brought the community, musicians and fans together across the ten-day celebration.
“The Tamworth Country Music Festival is, more than anything, a celebration of the heart and soul of rural and regional Australian communities and everyone comes together at the nightly free concerts in Toyota Park,” Mr Naidoo said.
“Next year’s concerts promise a fantastic array of some of Australia’s best country music artists, offering all festival-goers sensational free entertainment every night,” he said.
Minister for Tourism Ben Franklin said the 51st edition of the Tamworth Country Music Festival is shaping up to be a blockbuster event.
“It’s fantastic to see so many great Australian artists on the Tamworth Country Music Festival line-up. This iconic family-friendly event attracts thousands of visitors to Tamworth each year providing a significant boost to the visitor economy in the New England region,” said Mr Franklin.
Other big names set to perform in Toyota Park through the week include everybody’s favourite Shannon Noll, multi-award-winning artist Adam Brand, 2023 Golden Guitar Award nominee Amy Sheppard, The Sunny Cowgirls, long-time Festival favourite Chad Morgan, Hayley Jensen, Christie Lamb, 2022 Toyota Star Maker finalists Billie-Jo Porter and Katie Jane, plus many, many more.
Festival Manager Barry Harley says many of these artists will also be popping up on the Toyota FanZone stage, located in the main festival precinct.
“Kicking off at 10am every day of the Festival, Toyota FanZone gives Festival-goers a unique opportunity to get up close with some of the best, and 2023 will be no different,” he said.
“As well as many of the big names from Toyota Park, other artists performing at FanZone in 2023 include ARIA nominated and Golden Guitar Award winner, Amber Lawrence, two-time Golden Guitar winner Andrew Swift, 2022 New Talent of the Year winners Darlinghurst, plus many, many more.”
Roll of Renown Inductees The Bushwackers will also take to the FanZone stage in 2023, celebrating 42 years at the Festival, as well as award winning acoustic folk duo The Weeping Willows, plus Taylor Moss, Kristy Cox, Brad Butcher, Hurricane Fall, Melanie Dyer, Catherine Britt, Aleyce Simmonds, and The Hillbilly Goats.

Friday, January 13: Opening Concert
The Opening Concert is the official kick-off of the 2023 Toyota Country Music Festival and is a great snapshot of the diversity of music and artists who are ready to rock across the 10-days! Compered by Barry Morgan and his organ, the Opening Concert will feature some of Australia’s biggest country stars including top 2022 Golden Guitar winner, Shane Nicholson, 2022 Female Artist of the Year and Tamworth local Ashleigh Dallas, 2022 Toyota Star Maker Max Jackson, 2022 Bush Ballad of the Year winner Angus Gill, 2022 Golden Gig, Sponsored by Macca’s winner Mackenzie Lee, 2022 Busking Champion and 2023 Toyota Star Maker Finalist Jacob Vincent, and 2022 The Voice and Golden Gig finalist, Lane Pittman, plus performances from CMAA Academy Students.
Saturday, January 14: Sunny Cowgirls Girls’ Night Out
Festival favourites the Sunny Cowgirls will make a triumphant return to the Toyota Country Music Festival for a Girls’ Night Out in Toyota Park. Join the Sunny Cowgirls, and a couple of special guests, including 2022 Toyota Star Maker finalists Billie-Jo Porter and Katie Jane for a fun night of girl power!
Sunday, January 15: Toyota Star Maker 2023 Grand Final
Following in the footsteps of Australian country music’s biggest names including Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole, James Blundell, and many others, this concert will be the finale event of the 43rd Toyota Star Maker competition. Join us in Toyota Park for the Grand Final, which will launch the Top 10 finalists into the spotlight, including Claudia Tripp, Denvah, Emily Horton, Finnian Johnson, Jacob Vincent, Kiara Rodrigues, Kora Naughton, Loren Ryan, Robbie Mortimer, Sari Abbott. The evening features a performance by 2022 Toyota Star Maker winner Max Jackson, and a special performance by former Toyota Star Maker, Kaylee Bell who’ll be celebrating 10 years since her Star Maker win, plus of course the announcement of who will be the 43rd Toyota Star Maker!
Monday, January 16: Americana in the Park
Americana is proving to be a fast moving and ever-growing culture within Australian country music. At the 51st Toyota Country Music Festival, Americana in the Park will showcase the very best this genre has to offer, with some of the best Americana artists taking to the stage, including Melody Moko, The Banks Brothers, Colin Little, The Surreal McCoys, 2022 Toyota Star Maker finalist Billie-Jo Porter, plus the night will be compered by Alan Fletcher.
Tuesday, January 17: Country Rocks the Park
Get ready for a rocking night in Toyota Park, with some of Australia’s best country rock artists taking to the stage for one epic night! Fans will be entertained by 2022 Golden Guitar nominee and former The Voice contestant, Hayley Jensen, festival favourite Paul Costa, dynamic rock act Brewn, soulful country pop-rocker Ingrid Mae, alt-country four-piece Copperline, plus Ben Ransom, Stewart Barton and Ronnie Joudo.
Wednesday, January 18: Back To The Bush Spectacular
Shining a light on the iconic and traditional sub-genre of country music, the 2023 Festival will once again see the industry’s prolific bush balladeers take to the stage for the Back to the Bush Spectacular. Featuring a huge line-up of Bush Balladeers, including Chad Morgan, Anne Kirkpatrick, Tom Maxwell, Ernie Constance, Lindsay Butler, Shaza Leigh, Jeff Brown, Peter Coad, The Coad Sisters with Jim Hermel, Gunbarrel Highwaymen, Alisha Smith, Anita Ree, Lindsay Waddington, Angus Gill, Crosby Sisters, Ashley Cooke and many more, plus some special guests! Thursday, January 19: KIX Live in the Park
Brought to you by KIX Country: Kix Live in the Park will be a glittering showcase of Australian country music’s most established and emerging artists. The show will be streamed LIVE far and wide across the country, with a monster line up of Kix’s favourites including everyone’s favourite Shannon Noll, Christie Lamb, Southbound xo, Josh Setterfield, Hinterland, Sara Berki and Ella & Sienna.
Friday, January 20: Adam Brand’s Friday Night Bash!
Up for five Golden Guitars in 2023, Adam Brand will return to the Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth for an epic Friday Night Bash in Toyota Park. A long time Festival favourite, Adam is sure to put on a show stopping performance and he’ll bring a couple of his musical mates along, including Amy Sheppard and Matt Cornell! Don’t miss out, this is sure to be one popular night in the park!
Saturday, January 21: Blast of Blues
Join us as nationally recognised country blues artists take over Toyota Park for a Blast of Blues. The Buddy Knox Blues Band will head up the list of blues artists taking to the stage, with The Rumour Mill Blues Band featuring Guy Kachel, Sally-Anne Whitten and Alywn Aurisch, plus one man blues band and former Festival busker champion Mitch King!
Sunday, January 22: 2023 Toyota Best Of The Buskers
The best of the buskers will battle it out on the final night of the Festival at Toyota Park! A concert where new talent and new voices are discovered, the TOP TEN performing buskers, as chosen by our judges, will take to the stage to perform in front of thousands, all vying to be crowned the 2023 Busking Champion! Featuring a special return performance of the 2022 Busking Champion and 2023 Toyota Star Maker finalist, Jacob Vincent.
