South Australian born, Peter’s first professional performance was in 1961 on Radio 5AU Pt Augusta and the travelling Bob Fricker Show.
Peter toured and recorded with his brothers as Coad Bros in the 70’s and 80’s, performing mainstage at the Webb Bros Gympie Muster.
With a huge catalogue of recorded material and awards behind him, Peter forged a fulltime music career touring around Australia.
Inducted into both the South Australian Barmera Hands Of Fame and the Tamworth Hands Of Fame, Peter’s passion for the Australian story ballad led to him becoming President of The Australian Bush Balladeers Association in 2000.
His tireless efforts to help promote the Australian Bush Ballad and its artists over the years as part of the Association, along with his own dedication to Australian Country Music, saw Peter receive an OAM in 2017.
