The countdown is on and the campsites are open… and if you’re not hyped for TCMF2020, now’s about the time to get excited!
Whether you’re a seasoned visitor or this is your first time camping, if you’re doing it in Tamworth this January, we’ve got a few tips to make your experience memorable (and only in good ways!).
1. It’s all in the preparation
We’ve all heard that “you can never be too prepared”, and that’s 100% the case when it comes to TCMF time! If BBQing is your thing, make sure you only bring one that’s portable and gas, as open or pit fires are not permitted due to us valuing a bushfire-free Tamworth this fire season. Sites at Riverside Camping Grounds are unpowered, so keep that in mind if you’re planning to send some late night texts.
For Wallaroo pre-pitched campers, common areas are powered, so pack that hair straightener and electric toothbrush without qualms.
2. Get in early
Look, if you’re reading this and you’re not at your campsite at Riverside Camping Grounds, or at least travelling in its general direction, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? Just joking, but seriously, the key to a great camping experience is a great camping spot and at Riverside (which opened today) sites aren’t allocated so it’s first in, best dressed for you.
If you’re camping with Wallaroo, you’re in the clear; your booking will be waiting for you when you arrive!
3. Play it cool
Be prepared to beat the heat while camping this January, and have the time of your life while you’re at it! Make sure you carry drinking water with you at all times, and stay hydrated! The entrance fee to the Riverside Camping Grounds includes access to showers, and if it’s a really hot one, we recommend checking out our local pools which’ll cool you down quickly. Unfortunately inflatable pools aren’t permitted, but we don’t know why you’d need one anyway when you could be taking advantage of the awesome (and often air conditioned) entertainment all over the region!
4. Get in the TCMF2020 mood
After some tunes for while you’re getting ready to hit the Festival? Search "TCMF2020" on Spotify, a playlist guaranteed to get the good vibes rolling in.
5. Branch out when you chow down
Want to remain a happy camper? That can often rely on a full belly, and there are a tonne of food options just waiting for you around every corner. Besides a tonne of awesome stalls throughout the CBD, there are pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes all only too willing to help you refuel. Find a full list here.
