Riverside/Carter Street

The Riverside Camping Grounds are situated on Carter Street along the various sporting grounds adjacent to the Peel River. Each year with the help of local sporting bodies, Council opens this temporary camping area to caravans, tents and motorhomes. An easy walk to Peel Street, Riverside is ideally located close to the CBD and a number of entertainment venues.

The Riverside Camping Grounds will officially open to campers on the first day of countdown, Friday 8 January 2010 for the festival duration. All sites must be paid for in person as visitors arrive at the site via one of the two Riverside Site Offices. All sites must be vacated by 7am on Monday, 25 January 2010.

Tamworth Regional Council charges a nominal site fee for camping:

Permanent and temporary toilet and shower amenities are located around the Riverside Camping Grounds.  A $2 fee is payable to the sporting associations for the use of shower facilities each time.  Each of the three sporting clubhouses also operate camp stores with daily supplies of bread, milk, newspapers, drinks, ice, canned food, fruit, vegetables, toiletries and some camping requirement.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner with some dine-in facilities area also on offer – check clubhouse facilities for menus.
