Queen Quest
The 2012 Queen of Country Music Quest is one of the great traditions of the festival where young ladies aim to be crowned the Queen or Princess of Country Music.
Quest entrants act as festival ambassadors for both the Tamworth region and the Tamworth Country Music Festival. It’s a great way to meet people and be involved in and experience behind the scenes at one of the top 10 music festivals in the world.
The quest runs throughout the festival culminating in a Crowning Dinner on Sunday 29 January at Tamworth Memorial Town Hall. The 2012 Queen of Country Music will then spend the next 12 months involved in a range of civic and community events including guest speaking engagements, social and cultural presentations, and corporate and festival functions.
The 2012 Queen of Country Music will travel to Tamworth’s sister city Gore in New Zealand to attend the 2012 Gore Country Music Festival.

How the Queen of Country Music Quest began
The Queen of Country Music Quest was established in 1984 by the Tamworth Business Chamber as a promotional event for local business involvement in the annual Country Music Festival.
Entrants in the Queen of Country Music Quest are traditionally sponsored by their employer or local business and see the event as a way of participating in and promoting the festival.

Terms and Conditions
- The 2012 Queen of Country Music Quest is open to women aged 18 to 35 years who reside and/or work in the Tamworth region and who will be available to carry out her Queen/Princess duties throughout the entire year until completion of the 2013 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
- All entrants will be required to attend a number of promotional activities as part of the Quest and wider Tamworth Country Music Festival (a full list will be available from the Chamber after application).
- Quest entrants should be confident communicators who are committed to raising the profile of the Quest, the Tamworth region and the Tamworth Country Music Festival - www.tcmf.com.au
- Quest entrants will be judged on their general knowledge of the Tamworth region, the Tamworth Country Music Festival and current affairs as well as their presentation & appearance, personality, participation in Festival activities and events, public interaction and communication skills.
- Previous Quest entrants may enter, but must not have previously been crowned Queen or Princess or Miss Congeniality.
- The 2012 Queen and Princess of Country Music will act as ambassadors for the Festival and Tamworth region during 2012. Duties of the Queen and Princess include attending special events and functions in your own time, public speaking engagements and to be a chaperone for the 2013 Queen of Country Music Quest and Tamworth Country Music Festival.
- The 2012 Queen of Country Music will be required to take approximately one week leave of absence to attend the New Zealand Gold Guitar Awards in Gore www.goldguitars.co.nz
- Prizes awarded are not transferable.
- Quest related photographs taken of Quest entrants during the Quest and Tamworth Country Music Festival are permitted for use by the committee for promotional purposes.
- As an entrant of the 2012 Queen of Country Music Quest you agree to adhere to the 2012 festival itinerary and roster of events and activities.
- If any entrant breaches the Quest’s conditions, the Committee reserves the right to withdraw the entrant’s nomination from the Quest. The decision of the Quest Committee and Judging Panel on all matters pertaining or incidental to the 2012 Queen of Country Music Quest shall be final.
