List of Venues

Entertainment at the Tamworth Country Music Festival is spread throughout the City in many varied venues. In fact last year the Official Program to Tamworth presented 2,500 events being staged in 120 venues. Over 800 artists performed during the 2010 Country Music Festival.

Each of the properties organise their own entertainment, scheduling into its venue music which most suits its customer’s taste. Tamworth Jockey Club

The leading regional racecourse in the north west area offers seating for 800 patrons (including a performance area) parking, bar facilities and snack bars.

Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre (TRECC)

The Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre (TRECC), home of the Golden Guitar Awards, can be configured to seat 1,800, 3,000 or 5,000.

The very intimate Lyric Mode (1,800 seats) has an excellent ambience for both the entertainers and patrons. This exciting venue will seat 5,000 for major concerts and provide a clear span floor space of 4,800 square metres for exhibitions, conferences and trade shows.

Capitol Theatre Tamworth

Located right in the heart of Tamworth, the Capitol Theatre is Tamworth’s newest performance venue seating 402 on racked seating. Nestled in the heart of the Centrepoint Shopping Complex, on Level 1, the Capitol Theatre shares it foyer and bar with the Forum6 Cinema.

Theatre and Production Consultant, Richard Stuart was engaged to plan and oversee the fit-out of the theatre. With a hydraulic orchestra pit lift, automated winch flying system and well equipped sound and lighting rigs the Capitol Theatre is a great new performing arts venue.

Capitol Theatre Tamworth is a proud initiative of Tamworth Regional Council.

Tamworth Town Hall

Situated in the CBD this wonderful heritage style building has the capacity to seat 1,000 persons and is a venue for major concerts: The Tamworth Town Hall is equipped with state of the art production it is an excellent venue enormously popular with both entertainers and audiences. For hirers it offers a one stop hire package to an out of town promoter making their festival planning easy.

Bicentennial Park

Just one block from the CBD the park is an absolute favorite outdoor venue with both audiences and performers. It’s equipped with high quality sound and lighting and thousands of appreciative fans equipped with their folding chairs and blankets enthusiastically settle into the park which has the atmosphere of an amphitheatre. An excellent venue hire during the period makes it a highly prized venue. Assistance by council staff is always extended to hirers which is of particular help to out of town organisers for concerts or any associated activity.

Tamworth Community Centre

The Tamworth Community Centre at the corner of Peel and Darling streets comes under the auspices of the Tamworth Regional Council and holds concerts and other events as well as the CCMA Talent Quest each year. It has seating capacity of 200 in the Heritage Room and 70 in the Britten Room. It’s a heritage style building which has ample parking and wheelchair access.
