ANNUAL BATTLE OF BAREFOOT BOWLS
This Thursday, country music artists will go head to head with Tamworth Region Mayor, Col Murray in what will be an entertaining battle of barefoot bowls.
The event, run annually during the Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth, is a fun filled morning during which funds will be raised for Cancer Council NSW.
Catherine Britt, who is in Tamworth for the Festival and is an ambassador for Cancer Council NSW, will officially start the day which is due to commence at 9.30am and will conclude by midday.
Country music artists including Roo Arcus, Lachlan Bryan, Tori Darke, Luke O’Shea, Kirsty Lee Akers and Simply Bushed will join Tamworth Region Mayor, Col Murray and the 2016 Queen of Country Music entrants who are all competing for the unofficial 2016 title of ‘Best Barefoot Bowler’.
"The atmosphere is always fantastic at the bowls day and it’s a great opportunity for everyone to relax and have some fun during Festival" said Cr Murray.
"We expect a great turn out to the event and encourage anyone who wants to witness some light hearted competition to come over and enjoy the event" added Cr Murray.
The event is to be held at the South Tamworth Bowling Club.
Everyone is welcome to come along, cheer on your favourite team and meet the artists.
Donations will be accepted on the day with all proceeds donated to Cancer Council NSW.
