About Jackie..

In her own words 'Music has always been my therapy, song writing allows me to visit the most sacred places of my heart and soul. I write music to soothe and inspire myself and what a gift to share that with others'.

Described as sometimes a little ‘Country Belle’ and sometimes a little ‘rock chick’ she describes her style as coastal country sung with a voice that has been likened to Faith Hill and Molly McClymont. It was late 2007, whilst penning songs for her alt/country duo Dee-tour when Jackie decided to try her luck at a regional song competition. Judge Colin Buchanan awarded her first prize for her song A few Wrong Turns, a song about making those big important mistakes in life. Releasing her debut EP Tide in 2010, produced by the acclaimed Matt Fell of Love Hz Studios Sydney, Jackie‘s songs found wings. 'Launching my EP alongside Nashville-based Aussie artist Rick Price was a dream come true, he's been a huge inspiration for me' she says.

ABC Music picked Jackie’s first single A Few Wrong Turns to be included on their Country 4 Mum compilation in 2011. Her 2nd single ‘Tide’ charted on the CMC Top 50, and she and the industry began to get acquainted.

Nominated as People’s Choice Award finalist in the Australian Independent Artists Awards in 2011, Jackie performed alongside some of Australia's most prominent independent country artists at the iconic Capitol Theatre in Tamworth the following year.

For almost two decades Jackie has called the small NSW township of Helensburgh on the southern fringe of the Royal NP her home, and in her own words it’s ‘where the bush meets the sea, I think it's the best of both worlds, the perfect place to write coast and country music'.

In 2013 she released her 2nd studio album, again produced by Fell, and the aptly titled Doors & Windows gives us an intimate view of the robust yet sensitive relationship Jackie has with lyrics and melody, heart and mind. Voted as a top 30 finalist in the APRA/AMCOS 2013 Professional Development Awards (Country category) and a finalist in the 2013 Musicoz Awards, Jackie continues to leave her quality impressions.

'I’m maturing as a songwriter and it’s really important to me to produce quality material. I’m definitely my toughest critic!' Jackie laughs. As Fell states 'with Jackie, she and the songs are the same'. Doors and Windows has received excellent reviews around the country. “There is something special in the album’s overall sound that comes from the closeness of singer and producer working on something they both believed in and that augers well for a long career” – Jon Wolfe Country Music Capital News Sep 2013.
