Country singer-songwriter Hayley Marsten is an unapologetic, unstoppable force of talent and determination.
The Brisbane based artist has just released her debut EP “Even” with the help of one of Australian country music’s most famous families, The Chambers. Recorded with a full-band assembled by Bill Chambers, the EP was recorded in December 2014, at Foggy Mountain Studios, owned by son Nash Chambers. Taking inspiration from Miranda Lambert, Loretta Lynn and Kacey Musgraves, Marsten’s lyrics are personal, honest and the perfect amount of sass.
This singer-songwriter has more than a few music conquests under her big-buckled belt as a MusicOz award-nominee, Gympie Music Muster performer and headliner at Boyne Valley Country Music Campout, co-writing with Aleyce Simmonds at the DAG Sheep Station’s Song writing Retreat and being opening act on 8 Ball Aitken’s 2013 tour.
Big mouth, big hair, big dreams, are some of the lyrics from the lead single off the EP ‘Storm in a D Cup’ which is quickly winning fans already, gaining radio airplay and praise across the country. The fiddle-driven, toe-tapper, gives a tongue-in-cheek look into the artist’s life, which is resonating with her new and existing fans.
2015 is just the start for Hayley and her special way of getting ‘Even’, writing a song that gets stuck in people’s head, that’s a pretty great way to get even…
“Eventhough this was her first recording experience Hayley sang with conviction like she'd been doing it for years. I was also impressed with the way she guided the band, obviously knowing exactly what she wanted, yet with a casual attitude that made working with her a pleasure. Hayley Marsten - a professional artist on a mission, sure to succeed!” – Singer, song-writer, producer Bill Chambers.
“You can’t help but LOVE Hayley Marsten and her quirky, honest and truly unique style of music. The way in which Hayley crafts her words is intelligent and witty whilst coupled with infectious and gutsy melodies. When I heard Hayley play for the first time, I knew that hers would be a name that I’d be hearing loud and proud on the airwaves and charts before too long.” – Singer, Songwriter Aleyce Simmonds.
"Hayley Marsten's EP 'Even' is a fiery delight, demonstrating that revenge is best served as success." - Music is My Muse.
“She draws you in and makes you feel as though her music is an extension of her personality” - Clint Bolster of the Queensland Music Festival.
