Entries for the Toyota Country Music Cavalcade 2015 close this week. Cavalcade organisers have already received more than 60 entries for the event, which is themed “It’s Country Music...and so much more.”
A last minute rush of entries is expected this week, before entries close at 5pm this Friday 9 January. The Cavalcade will be held on Saturday 24 January 2015.
Entries will be judged within their nominated category, with the creativity of float design, theming, and entertainment taken into account. The event usually includes more than 80 float entries, featuring country music superstars, live music and entertainment.
Cavalcade Coordinator Crystal Vero is reminding local businesses and community organisations to submit their entries this week to be part of the Festival fun.
“With cash prizes valued at more than $3,000, the Cavalcade provides a fantastic opportunity for local and regional groups to be part of one of the biggest events in the Festival program,” said Mrs Vero.
Last year’s Cavalcade winning floats included Tamworth City Dance Academy’s dancing procession tribute to Slim Dusty and the Lions Club of Tamworth’s “Pub With No Beer” themed semi-trailer float.
The 2015 Toyota Country Music Cavalcade will be held on Saturday 24 January commencing at 9am, from the corner of Peel and Hill Streets, Tamworth.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the official Festival website www.tcmf.com.au or by contacting Tamworth Regional Council on 02 6767 5555.
