Nominations for one of the Tamworth Country Music Festival's most spectacular iconic events, the 2015 Toyota Country Music Cavalcade open today.
The theme for the 2015 event is “It's Country Music...and so much more”, which enables entrants to design their float entry around those elements of the Festival and Tamworth as a destination which resonate most for them.
To be held on Saturday 24 January 2015 the event usually includes more than 80 float entries, Country Music Superstars, live music and entertainment and is a spectator delight for thousands of Festival goers who line the Peel Street route.
Entries will be judged on the creativity of their float design, theming, entertainment and nominated category. Categories are the same for 2015 and include Best Commercial, Best Non-Commercial/Community and Best Non-Vehicle.
Festival Director John Sommerlad says the iconic event is a fabulous way for community groups and businesses to join in the celebration of the Festival.
“The Cavalcade provides a fantastic opportunity for local and regional groups to be part of one of the biggest events in the Festival program and with cash prizes valued at more than $3,000 it's a great way to be rewarded for their participation,” said Mr Sommerlad.
The 2015 Toyota Country Music Cavalcade will be held on Saturday 24 January commencing at 9am, from the corner of Peel and Hill Streets, Tamworth. Entry forms can be downloaded from the official Festival website www.tcmf.com.au or by contacting Tamworth Regional Council on 02 6767 5555.
