Thursday 3rd – Tuesday 8th of July 2014
The DAG Sheep Station in the beautiful hills of Nundle, will be hosting it’s second very special Winter Singer Songwriters Retreat, during Tamworth’s, 2014 Hats Off To Country Festival. In a brand new approach, participants will get the chance to learn from some of Australian Country Music’s finest and successful Award Winning, Singer Songwriters including; Allan Caswell, Roger Corbett, Tamara Stewart, Luke O’Shea and Karl Broadie.
The 2014 Retreat will focus on songwriting and performing with participants also coached in collaboration, stage presence, artist development, studio production and music business.
This retreat will be very hands on in it’s approach. You will learn to write songs by actually writing songs and how to perform them by performing them. You will learn over in-depth sessions what took these veteran performers years to learn by trial and error.
The 2014 Singer Songwriters Retreat has been designed to give new and established artists a place to meet and grow creatively. All genres, Independent artists and artists under management are encouraged to be a part of this retreat, whether you are looking to improve your songwriting, performance skills, creative flow or market presence, this retreat is for you.
The program offered in this retreat is laid back and allows time for collaboration, one on one tuition with a variety of tutors and a chance to find personal growth whilst surrounded by some of the finest songwriters, performers and supportive peers.
The cost of the 2014 Singer Songwriters Retreat is all-inclusive-covering workshops, meals, accommodation and a Gift Pack including; A limited edition T-shirt, subscription to Country Capital News and copies of NEW Songwriting DVD’s by Allan Caswell and Karl Broadie.
Owing to a limited number of places available a selection process may be necessary.
There will be 3 concerts featuring the tutors (which will be open to the public) where the tutors will perform and show the songs that raised and maintained their profile.
An open-mic every night after dinner, will give participants the opportunity to perform their new songs they have written and before each of the 3 concerts, ‘Songwriters - Live on the Deck’ will allow participants to perform their songs to the public.
Anyone who wants to heighten their craft as a performing artist, further express their talents and hone their skills will greatly benefit by attending this amazing event. As Allan Caswell said, “I wish they’d had something like this when I started... it would have saved me years of learning it myself”.
